On Thursday March 28 at 4:30 PM in Science Center Hall E, GIIM hosted Tufts University Norbert Wiener Assistant Professor Eunice Kim, who gave a talk about dynamical systems, billiards, chaos theory, and her experience navigating graduate school, postdoctoral studies, and professorship.

Speaker Bio: Eunice Kim studies dynamical systems, especially billiards, chaos theory, classical mechanics, differential equations, and the applications of these theories to the study of physical phenomena. Her recent work involves investigating the stability of a system of coupled pendulums using Floquet theory, a study of periodic linear ordinary differential equations. She has also been exploring mathematical billiards and its connection to Hamiltonian systems with impacts.
