In spring 2014, co-president Meena Boppana, along with fellow undergraduates Kate Donahue, Domniki Georgopoulo, and Caitlin Stanton conducted a survey to assess student satisfaction with the Harvard math department, emphasizing issues such as the gender gap and math advising. They uncovered a significant gap between the genders; specifically, women are significantly less likely to pursue math beyond Harvard, more uncomfortable with the math department, and more likely to notice the gender gap. For more information, read about their survey here. Co-President Vikram Sundar published an article in the Harvard Political Review here analyzing the gender gap at Harvard using the survey among other evidence.
